Never watch shadows projected on the wall from objects passing infront of a fire behind them and give them names while in a cave. You will always think the shadows are reality and a true reflection of the originality, when it is not accurate representation of the real world. It is until you come out of a cave is when you will be versed with realities. These are wise words from the father of philosophers Socrates.
Vihiga county is full of potential,but it is under utilized because our minds are still tied in a cave. We can't perceive a reality of things. We keep crying of job opportunities which are minimal. The hidden human resource we have can create jobs to the unemployed youths remain untapped.
Meet Patric Musalia Deans , a 63 years old who hails from Iduku village Lugaga/Wamuluma ward , Vihiga sub- county he will teach you how to extract oil from an Avacado and use it to nourish your body skin.
He collects the avocados and preserve them in a rudimentary ripening chamber for two to three days, when ready crashes after removing the outer cover and the seedling.Oil is squized as the end product.
' I discovered I have more avocados which goes wasted as a result of not consumed. I decided to give it a try and see if oil can come out of it. My creativity made me discover different processes that can lead to oil extraction from it as the final product. That how Iz have a sample of it.' Patric says.
His main desire is to bring more people on board especially the young people, and teach them the new skill to attract more investors.
' Never do something because you need help, do what you can do best and people will come to assist you carry your vision. You must first know what is involved and seek help'.
Patrick who holds a diploma in forestry from Londiani , says as a county it is possible to go the Kitui County way which has a textile industry when the idea picks up and get embraced by like-minded.
