ASPIRANTS RUSH FOR PPK TO RIDE ON AKARAGA INFLUENCE AT GRASSROOTS TO CLINCH POWER

former Vihiga governor HON. Moses Akaranga party PPK has attracted several vibrant aspirants across the county, who believe that , the party leader still enjoys overwhelming support at grassroots, and wish to use his influence to ascend to the throne come 2022 general election.
As the clock to the next poll ticks, sources established by Vihiga news bullets indicates, both the sitting and aspiring MCAs have been secretly meeting the former governor at Elwunza, his rural home, to solidify their relationship and persuade him hand them a direct ticket.
PPK which is the minority party in Vihiga county assembly seems to be lender of last resort, for those who feel a lot of dishonest in ANC party in party primaries which lock out potential aspirants as witnessed in 2017 grassroots nominations.
‘We have no other option than joining PPK party since we are assured of fairness unlike in ANC where there are no fair, free and credible party nominations.’ An MCA who seek anonymity not to be mentioned said.
The candidates, feel Akaranga is the only formidable candidate to unseat Hon. Dr. Wilber Ottichlo , based on his reception in different functions and support at grass root level especially in Hamisi , Vihiga and sabatia constituency and Luanda by extension. Many attributes this to his generosity which analysts say is a professional handout giver when in position, his humor nature and his solid relationship with religious churches.
‘The former governor does not require a billion to win gubernatorial election, he only needs facilitation to help him move across and remind voters he will be on the ballot. Historically Akaranga has always been winning election without money and 2022 will be a replica ’. An aspiring MCA reiterated.
The party has begun opening up her offices across the county at ward level as it prepares for 2022 general election. Sources indicates, the late aspiring Member Of parliament Hon. Maclean Sloya had promised to secretly pay Party’s office rent , for fear of being downplayed by ANC in party polls.
The Bullet has established that, several financiers have been approaching the former governor promising him full support including those from OTTICHILO government, top business men from Vihiga and outside.
United Democratic Alliance (UDA) affiliated to deputy president Dr. William Ruto has been convincing the former governor to join the party with a believe that he is an easy brand to sell. Information reached the bullet desk indicates, ANC party has strong fear that, is likely to lose the gubernatorial seat for the third time, thus believes bringing Akaranga on board will easily make him clinch the seat. ANC party leader has tried reaching out to Akaranga to join him but the former governor has remained adamant for fear that it could be a set up.
